Tresemme Beauty-Full Volume

Tresemme Beauty Full Volume Range

I’ve heard of reverse washing a few times, but if I’m honest thought it was one of those blogger fads that would pass over time. That was until I noticed that the Tresemme Beauty-Full Volume range was on offer in my local supermarket. I thought I would give it a go since I’m always trying to achieve that big bouncy blow dry look which Tresemme promises.

What is Reverse Washing?

Before I share my thoughts on the Tresemme shampoo and conditioner, it may be helpful if I explain what exactly is meant by reverse washing. So the theory behind reverse washing is that conditioner can weigh down your hair, and can leave a residue which sometimes leaves hair looking a little dull, lack shine and ‘oomph’ (volume to me and you). So by applying conditioner first and shampooing after we can moisturise our hair without any weight or residue. This means you should be left with shiny hair with lots of ‘oomph’. According to Tresemme their Beauty-Full volume range will leave hair smooth, polished and still full of volume and bounce – sounds great right.

My thoughts

First of all I don’t think I can talk about reverse washing without say how weird it feels to use conditioner first. I’ve been washing my hair the same way for a very long time so changing my shower routine was odd at first. However after a couple of washes I got used to putting the conditioner on first. The conditioner is actually a really good conditioner, although you should expect that with Tresemme. For me I want to feel the conditioner soften my hair right there in the shower and although my hair is wet it always feels soft and smooth after using this. I don’t really have too much to say about the shampoo, it does its job of removing grease etc but didn’t wow me (although saying that I don’t think any shampoo has wowed me). Another thing I think I should point out is both these products have a strong scent (if you’re familiar with Tresemme you’ll know the smell I’m talking about). Personally I don’t mind the smell and don’t find it lingers on your hair after use.
So did I notice a difference in my hair’s volume? To be honest I don’t think it did make much difference. My hair is naturally very fine, but I have a lot of it which can give the illusion of volume. When I style it I try to recreate a big bouncy blow dry using tongs or rollers and I’ve still needed my tools to create big bouncy hairstyles. However that doesn’t mean I didn’t like the Beauty-Full Volume range. I think when it comes to hair you either have thick voluminous hair or you don’t and a shampoo isn’t going to do much to change that. Bu what this has done, is given me healthy looking, shiny hair which is always going to be a plus.
So in conclusion, using conditioner first is a bit weird but I think it does work if you’re after shiny, healthy looking hair. It isn’t going to suddenly give you big bouncy hair (you still have to style it) but it probably does make it slightly easier to style.

I've heard of pre-poo, co-wash, and even dry wash. But, never Reverse Washing. I love Tressamme products, so I might try this. Thank you for your honest review.

Ooooh I really want to give reverse washing a go now! I've heard so much about doing it, but not that much about the results. I'm going to give it a whirl soon and see if it makes a difference

I heard about this whole reverse washing thing. I have the most crazy hair that is constantly tangled so I would be so scared that after shampooing it would be a complete mess again. Might need to try it though, just to see!
    Great Post!
