You’ve heard me say this before, but one of the best ways to add colour and interest to your outfit is through statement accessories. You can completely change your outfit just by adding a bright scarf or introduce colour to a monochrome wardrobe with a statement bag. I find this the easiest way to add a bit of colour to my wardrobe as you don’t need to worry about matching colours in your outfit if you are adding a bright bag.
“After listening to our customers tell us what they want, we have created a capsule collection of beautiful, quality, luxury handbags at an affordable price, which we hope they will love”
The Covet capsule collection consists of 3 bag styles; The Newton Bag, Edinburgh Bag and Covet Essential Clutch. The Newton Bag comes in 2 sizes standard (£275) and small (£235) and is a practical day to day bag. The standard size would be perfect for work as it’s big enough to fit all the essentials but not so big that you fill it with stuff you won’t need. Both sizes come with a detachable strap so you can wear them cross-body or over the shoulder if that’s more your style. The Edinburgh Bag is my favourite out of the collection and is a foldover style clutch which is a little roomier than your average clutch. It also comes with a long strap so you can wear it multiple ways. I can see this bag being perfect for a wedding, but would also look great worn as a cross-body at the weekend. The final bag in the collection is the Covet Essential Clutch which is a simple clutch bag, similar to the Whistles clutch bags I already own but the leather is so much softer.
The whole collection comes in a range of colours inspired by rich jewel tones and precious metals. With every bag available in Platinum, Gold, Copper, Pewter, Rose Gold, Turquoise Metallic, Amethyst Metallic, Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire, Quartz or Onyx you’re spoilt for choice. The metallic colours are absolutely gorgeous, although the rose gold is also beautiful. I’m very tempted to pick up one of the Edinburgh Bags, once I finally decide on a colour.
Personally, I think the bags are reasonably priced. Yes, they are a little more expensive than the ones you find on the high street. But we are talking about bags which are handmade in Spain using the finest Italian leather (trust me the leather is butter soft). You need to be comparing these bags to high-end designer handbags and trust me these are a great price. If you’re interested in buying one I suggest popping into Covet on Thistle Street to check them out for yourself, or if you can’t get into Edinburgh you can purchase on the Covet Website (delivery is expected beginning of October).
