If you’ve been reading this blog for a while you may remember I took part in a 10×10 style challenge back in September as a way to transition my wardrobe into autumn. I enjoyed that challenge so much that I took part People Tree’s 5 looks challenge earlier in the year. So it only makes sense that I’m taking part in the spring 10×10 style challenge. Now is the perfect time for a style challenge as I’ve just switched over to my spring capsule wardrobe and want to find some creative ways to style my pieces.
There is also a massive community of capsule wardrobe bloggers and Instagrammers taking part from all over the world. Everyone is sharing their outfits using #spring10x10 so make sure you check it out. I will also be sharing daily outfits on Instagram and of course at the end of the challenge will wrap everything up here. And if you want to join the fun and take part in the spring 10×10 style challenge make sure you share your outfits too. Let me know in the comments if you’re taking part so I can follow along.
What is the 10 x 10 Style Challenge
The spring 10 x 10 style challenge is taking 10 pieces of clothing and using them to create 10 outfits over 10 days. Or 2 weeks if you want to have a couple of PJ days at the weekend. Sounds pretty simple right. I think it sounds like a great way to test out a capsule wardrobe if you’re a little unsure. It will also (hopefully) show me that I can create a variety of unique outfits from my existing wardrobe and force me to make the most of every piece.
I’m counting all clothes and shoes in my 10 items for the spring 10×10 style challenge. However, I’m not including accessories as I feel these will be needed to help create the outfits. Although these aren’t included in the number I have separated around 5 pieces which I will be using. This to help give the challenge focused and simplify getting dressed each day. I’ve decided not to include a coat in the final number. Hopefully, I won’t need one as this is a spring challenge. However, I will obviously grab a weather appropriate coat if needed. I also think I will probably be changing my shoes for the daily dog walk. Although both of my picks are suitable for a short walk, my dog needs longer walks (he’s a collie cross so needs lots of exercise). As I’m out walking for around an hour I will switch into my trainers for this.
Like with my main capsule wardrobe underwear, PJ/Loungewear and work out clothes don’t count.

Lots of stripes and no black! Both of which were accidental but I’m going with it. I think it will be useful for me to go 10 days without wearing any black. Feeling a bit fed up with black and grey outfits after the long winter so excited for a lighter colour palette.
